Described as "Green Acres" meets the "Jetsons" with a little bit of "Addam's Family", Misha Farms is a small "hobby-farm" located on 10 acres, just outside of the rural town of Corning, California.

Thanks to our friends at DM-Tech we have great high speed internet. This connection allows Mike to work at home for Dasan Zhone Tech as a computer programmer. Some of our farming is and has included techno art/swag, chicken eggs, pottery, bees, Mondioring Dogsport Events, and wild figs.  Our interests include music, video, exercising at our home or riding our bicycles outside, food, taking care of the house and land, making stuff, cooking for Kirshner Wildlife Foundation's "Spooktacular,"  sustainability, Tai, Chi & Community Acupucture, listening to Teaching Company classes, and entertaining friends and family, especially on the porch with our dogs.   "Jun," a fabulous blend of organic green tea, SCOBY, honey, and various flavorings is our latest obsession.  Look for "KC Jun" at the PLAY CAFE dba "Kombucha Castle" in 2019!  Can't wait? CONTACT us to talk about arranging a private tasting.

PLANTS, ANIMALS & OTHER MENTIONABLES

We live in the house with two dogs and "Jun" Kombucha SCOBY creatures that make Jun Kombucha fermented beverages.  At night we lock the two cats in the barn, but during the day, they patrol the property and torture wildlife like only cats can.  In April of 2018, we started our first bee hive and hope for honey by Summer 2019.  In addition to the plants and animals that we cultivate, our land also hosts delicious untended, yet very productive fig trees, multiple wildflowers, various rodents and raptors, wild turkeys, amphibians and reptiles and countless types and amounts of bugs, and occasional foxes and coyotes.

In 2007 we had a 10K solar power array installed and have been farming sun to keep cool and other electric needs.  Except for MULTIPLE failures of our FRONIUS transformers and PG& E recently jacking up their use plan, it’s been a good deal for us financially as well as a great eco “Mikva.”

A few years ago we built a SuperAdobe Earthen Construction that we call the “DEARTH VADER DOME.”  It is less than 120 square feet, so in Tehangma County where we live, it is considered a shed and no building permits were necessary.  We wanted to try this type of construction in a small scale before we went through the hassle of permits and finding a contractor who had a clue.  It turned out fine, but it was VERY hard labor for the person/s “pulling the bags.  We ended up remodeling a garage workshop we now call our “FUN HOUSE."

This land is where the Pacific Crest Mountains, the Sacramento Valley, and the Sierra Nevada Mountains crest together.  The views from all over our property are spectacular and we feel blessed and grateful to be this land’s current caretakers.

In 2019, we are opening “Play Cafe,”

TECHNO ART & SWAG

MAGIC POTS

Most of these pots were thrown by Sharon.  She and her friends have decorated and glazed them so that you can have artistic NON PLASTIC items in your life.  You deserve this!  Are these pots food safe?  All of the glazes and underglazes we use are rated “Dinnerware Safe.”  That said, there are occasions where some of these, and other ceramics might not be safe to use for food and drink.  Pottery that is cracked or has worn or unglazed food contact area, is NEVER considered safe for food use because they can harbor biological contaminants.   These, and other food containers should be inspected occasionally for worn off glaze and structural cracks. On some rare instances, multiple glazes might interact in a way that they can “leak out” from super acidic or basic foods.  You can test a plate, cup or bowl by leaving some extreme liquid or food, such as a lemon slice on the food surface for a few hours.  Questionable pots can always be “career changed” to moxa pot, planter, or other non food job

If you would like to come visit our Fun House and glaze a pot or few of your own, buy a finished piece or talk about a custom item, feel free to contact <sharon96021@gmail.com> or (530) 824-9100.  We have pots waiting to be colorized, glazed, fired and placed in their forever homes.  ALL proceeds from Magic Pots Sales will be donated to POCA, (People’s Organization of Community Acupuncture)
